Overview - Environmental Studies

In November 2006, international scientists released an eight year study on the world's first offshore ocean wind farm west of Denmark. This report unanimously concluded that offshore wind farms do not harm the environment. Download the PDF to view this study.

The first offshore ocean wind farm in the United States is scheduled to be constructed in 2010 at Nantucket Sound and is called "Cape Wind". Started in 2001, government agencies have nearly completed regulatory approval after many years of study. The US Army Corps of Engineers ("USACE") has conducted extensive research on offshore wind farms and their impact on the environment. The USACE has concluded that they are safe and do not harm the environment.

Radial Wind is committed to protecting the environment. Extensive research has been and will continue to be done on the impact of windmills that are located offshore and the sensitivities involved to marine wildlife, birds, and the surrounding habitat. Radial Wind is working with federal and state agencies and will seek public comment to enhance the beauty of the surroundings that will be the Radial Wind Farm.

Environmental studies, including a Programmic Environmental Impact Statement by the Mineral Management Service, support the concept of Radial Wind Farm and we expect an expedited permitting process allowing Radial Wind Farm to provide clean energy in the near future. Radial Wind Farm is committed to a safe and environmentally friendly wind farm and will provide downloadable scientific data and studies below as they become available.
